Introduction to Bielsa, Spain
Bielsa is a small town nestled between two national parks, Posets-Maladeta and Ordesa y Monte Perdido, both just near the Spain-France border. The town retains its quaint historic feeling, with the many old buildings still intact. The 12th century Church of Javierre is the main religious building and is home to a beautiful Gothic altar. The Ethnological Museum of the town is a great way to learn about the culture and history of the area. Just outside the town, visitors will find well-preserved Roman ruins and a shrine dedicated to the Virgin of Pineta. Bielsa is famous for its annual carnival, one of the oldest in Spain and attracting visitors from all over the country. The town is also home to one of the oldest Spain-France tunnels, which was opened in 1970. There are not many Bielsa hotels, but visitors can choose from small inns and bed and breakfasts.other spellings: bielsahotels, bilsa otel, hotell, beilsa hote, hotlein biesa, bielza hotes
