Introduction to Barcelona - West of Gracia
The famous Spanish city of Barcelona is set in Catalonia and is comprised of many neighbourhoods, of which Gracia, just out of the city centre, is perhaps the most Catalonian. It’s a prosperous area with an interesting local feel, with its people living life traditionally on the public squares. It’s also a good place for West of Gracia hotels, as it’s within walking distance of important modernist buildings and much else in the city centre. Guell Park is the district’s green space, set on the slopes of a hill overlooking the downtown district and with an undeveloped natural area at the pinnacle of the hill. The park also hosts a Gaudi-style sculpture park, with colourful pieces scattered around its walkways and on its terrace. Casa Vincens, Barcelona’s first building by Gaudi and a UNESCO-listed heritage site, is nearby.
