Introduction to Barcelona - Martorell
Situated upon two major highways close to the stunning Spanish city of Barcelona, Martorell is a small town that is most famous for its bridge. The town is about 30kms from the Catalonian capital, but has exploded in its population numbers over the past few decades. This growth is largely a result of the SEAT automobile industry opening in the town and the settlement’s bedroom community status for Barcelona workers. Most Martorell hotels are designed to cater for short-stay travellers, although staying in this stunning township for more than a day or two is not out of the question. The Devil’s Bridge is the main attraction in town. It stands as a medieval bridge that was originally built in the late 1200s and great views are available from the nearby park. The church that stands to the west of Devil’s Bridge, Parroquia de Santa Maria, adds another dimension to the sites in Martorell.Visit our Barcelona Travel Guide
