Introduction to Almeria - San Jose
San Jose is in the province of Almeria, and has been one of the few places in Spain to not become overloaded with tourists or tourism. It is still a small fishing town that has retained the Spanish ambience and style. With just a few hotels in Almeria located in San Jose, the number of visitors is relatively small. It could be regarded as something of an exclusive resort since most of the hotels in Almeria are well away from this village. The main location for the Almeria hotels in San Jose is around the port or towards the rear of the village on the main A108 road. They feature good quality accommodation as well as lower cost 'pension' guesthouses. The nearby national park of the Sierra Nevada is a great attraction, but this has to be one of the least known villages along the coast, which to the south and west is inundated with hotel developments.
