Introduction to Almeria - Roquetas de Mar
Roquetas de Mar, 'Little Rocks of the Sea', is a seaside town in Spain’s Almeria Province. While this town is not the busiest resort on the country’s Mediterranean coastline, its seclusion and quieter atmosphere only adds to its charm as a quaint seaside village. Visitors staying at Almeria hotels tend to be a mix of Spanish and northern European nationals, making a holiday here culturally diverse. Roquetas de Mar has excellent tourist infrastructure, with the central Urbanizacion precinct boasting a wide choice of tapas bars and restaurants, retail outlets, a bull ring and a concert hall. The beaches here are blissfully vacated compared with some of Spain’s heavier tourism areas and this offers visitors plenty of leeway for swimming, frolicking and sunbathing.
