Introduction to Almeria - Carboneras
Located in Andalusia, about an hour's drive from Almeria, is the pretty little coastal town of Carboneras. The town marks the starting point of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park and has a pleasant temperature all year round. The Plazo del Castillo (Castle Square) is located in the town centre, with the castle having been built during the 16th century and the town having grown up around it. There are two other notable landmarks in Carboneras: the Torre del Rayo (Thunderbolt Tower), which was erected in 1854, and the Torre de Mesa, which was built in 1776. The main draw of the town is the beaches, with nearly 17kms of beautiful beaches stretched along its coast. El Ancon is the beach closest the town centre, while Las Marinacas is the widest and located near the port towards the south of the town. The local restaurants specialise in fresh fish and seafood, and there a number of nice bars to enjoy a nice cool beer in. Carboneras hotels are located throughout the town and cater for travellers on all budgets.other spellings: caboneras otel, carbonras hote, carboeras hotles, carbonera hotle, caboners hotes
