Introduction to Alicante - Algorfa
The Spanish town of Algorfa sits amidst lush, fertile countryside that supports citrus farming in the country's Costa Blanca area. Hotels in Algorfa enjoy an enviable location close to the Mediterranean Sea and within easy reach of sports and tourist sites, bigger cities and transport options. The coastal resort of Guardamar del Seguro is only about 15 minutes away by road. Both Murcia-San Javier Airport and Alicante Airport can be reached in just 30 minutes. The town's biggest attraction is probably La Finca Golf Club, which is based here. Several holiday communities lie within easy reach. The El Fondo Nature Park, a wetlands conservation area, is about 25 minutes to the north. More parkland featuring a pair of lagoons sits outside Torrevieja, 20 minutes to the east. Though named a castle, the 18th-century Castillo de Montemar is more of a mansion, but is well worth visiting. The parish church was built in the 1960s and so has only a little history. The Ermita, however, is a neo-Gothic stone church on a hill nearby and is more than a hundred years old.
