Seoul Travel Guide
Haengjusansong Fortress: is located on the top of Mt. Togyangsan. This is the famed fortress where General Kwon Yul with only 2,300 soldiers defeated over 30,000 Japanese soldiers during the Japanese invasion of 1592. During this battle the women in the surrounding area supported the soldiers by carrying rocks, in their aprons, to the soldiers who threw them at their enemies from the high fortress walls. In the battle for this site, there were very few soldiers, so women had to help. Sansong means, 'fortress' and Haengju means 'apron' in Korean.
Incheon: is an hour’s drive from the city of Seoul and is where the international airport is located. There is plenty to see in this area including many quaint shops and boutiques as well as Freedom Park, which is home to General MacArthur’s statue. The statue was built to honour the landing of the general at Incheon in 1950.
