Introduction to Yangyang, South Korea
The small city of Yangyang in South Korea's Gangwon Province is renowned for its cuisine, particularly its seafood and the pine mushrooms grown in the forests surrounding this seaside community. In addition to these culinary delights, visitors to the city often head to nearby Naksan and Osan beaches early in the morning to catch unforgettable sunrises over the East Sea. Many travellers staying a night or two in Yangyang hotels are headed to or coming from to the nearby Seorak-san National Park, which boasts spectacular peaks rising over 1,700 metres (5,600 feet) above sea level. There are a number of well-known fishing spots in the province, which shares its name with the city, especially for salmon. Religious sites in the city are dedicated to multiple religions, from Roman Catholicism to Confucianism. The city's cathedral was rebuilt after being demolished during the Korean War. A trip to the city's traditional market is a highlight of any visit. other spellings: yangyanghotels, yangyang otel, yang yang hotell, yang yang hote
