The South Korean city of Yangsan-Si is set just inland from Busan and is the home of the spectacular Tongdosa Temple. This nationally renowned temple is part of Mount Gajisan National Park, which also boasts Songbo Museum and breathtaking views of the city below. The area serves as a base for those looking to explore the pine-covered surrounding mountains and to take advantage of skiing, golf and other outdoor activities. Many Yangsan-Si hotels, particularly those in the northern end of the valley, cater to park visitors and offer tour services and dining options in addition to accommodation. The highest visitor numbers are seen during the busy summer travel season however smaller crowds make the spring and autumn surprisingly pleasant periods in which to visit. Less than 10kms out of the city are well-known natural areas such as Songho Ri, which overlooks the Geum River.
