Introduction to Jeonju, South Korea
Jeonju is a large city located on the western side of the South Korean peninsula, in the province of North Jeolla. There are some 650,000 people residing in the city. However, the streets seem much busier than the population suggests, largely due to the high tourist population that enters the city every year. The city is famous for its cultural and historical wealth against which no city in South Korea can compare. The city is home to the world famous Korean dish of bibimpap, which is basically Korean style rice with sliced vegetables and sesame seeds mixed with a delectable spicy sauce. There is a hanok village that has been preserved in the centre of the city. Jeonju hotels are not far from attractions in this provincial capital. Several museums can be found scattered throughout the city, including the National Jeonju Museum, the Royal Museum, and an exciting paper museum. The main park in the city is Deokjin Park, which offers spectacular views of the city skyline at night.
