Introduction to Jecheon, South Korea
Jecheon is a city in the province of Chungcheongbuk, in the central regions of northern South Korea. With the city's name translating into English as 'Dam-river', it is little surprise to tourists that there are several water features found around the city. Although it is not overly renowned as a tourist destination, the city contains some interesting and picturesque sights to behold. In addition, it is a major railway hub for Chungcheongbuk Province. There are plenty of Jecheon hotels found throughout the streets. Uirimji Reservoir is just a few kilometres to the east of the city. Close to the reservoir is Cheongpung Lake, which is perfect for tourists looking for natural scenery or water activities like boating or fishing. However, the most popular landmark around the city is Cheongpung Cultural Complex, which is a fantastic re-creation of a cultural town that was previously submerged by the local reservoir.
