You will absolutely never run out of things to do while in Gangnueng, a city on the east coast of South Korea, despite its being a relatively small place. There are a number of good museums including the Ojukheon Museum, named after a kind of bamboo that grows locally, and the nearby Municipal Museum showcasing the city's history. The spot which reflects most of the city's culture is certainly the Gyengpodae pagoda where, as the legend says, you can see the moon five times as it reflects in the lake which surrounds this beautiful structure. It stands on 28 pillars and is often thought of as a holy place of spirits and good luck. Boats may be rented at the two beaches; Gyeongpo Beach hosts an annual Youth Cultural Festival in summer. Finding a place to stay for the night is extremely easy, as Gangnueng hotels are literally everywhere in the city centre along with some of the best restaurants and local food vendors.
