The city of Changwon in South Korea is a relatively young community. Unusual for South Korea, Changwon is a planned city. It was developed in the 1970s as the capital of Gyeongsangnam do. It was created to provide an alternative national capital in case Seoul was invaded. Hotels in Changwon allow visitors to explore this interesting city. High tech industry is a key part of the city’s economy. However, as visitors can see from the mountains that ring Changwon, there is plenty of natural scenery that can be enjoyed by staying at Changwon hotels. Those arriving by air will usually fly into the airport at Gimhae, to the east. From here, accommodation can easily be found at the hotels in Changwon. Travel by rail is popular, and the train station at Changwon is located in the northern part of the city.
