Many domestic flights also arrive at Cape Town’s airport daily, as do flights from all parts of the African continent. The airport handles more than four million passengers a year, many of them connecting via Johannesburg.

Banks and currency exchanges are located in both the domestic and international departures lounges; and banks are available in the international arrivals area as well. ATMs are located in the arrivals and departures areas of the domestic terminal; and eateries and shops are found in the departures areas of both terminals.

Transportation: public transport options from the airport to the city include shuttles and taxis. Major hotels also offer airport transfer services, and this should be requested when making your reservation.

The trip to the city centre takes around 20 minutes. Shuttle services are operated by Magic Bus Shuttle and Sean Casey, with both offering door-to-door service from the airport to any destination in the area. Taxis are available around the clock and are found in front of the arrivals area of both terminals.

Parking: free street-side parking is available alongside the terminals, and valet parking is provided for those looking for better security. In addition, both short- and long-term parking spaces are available in locked garages, which are patrolled 24-hours by special security personnel.

The best short-term option is to park in the shaded area along the terminals; for long-term requirements, it’s best to use the valet service provided by Katanga Executive Parking. The attendants will park your vehicle in a secure, locked garage which is monitored around the clock. Valet service must be booked in advance.
