Introduction to Tsitsikamma National Park, South Africa

Tsitsikamma National Park is one of the most spectacular coastal preserves along South Africa's Garden Route. This popular park has some splendid native forests and an excellent trail network that extends into the woodlands and along the dramatic coast. The park itself encompasses around 80kms of the South African coast. At the western end is an area known as Nature's Valley, a place of sublime beauty. The Otter Trail is the park's walking highlight. It branches off into several trails that lead hikers to waterfalls, pools and quiet forest clearings. Most of the traveller amenities are located at Storms River Mouth. You will find a number of restaurants, shops and a helpful information office. Tsitsikamma National Park hotels are for outdoor types. There are camping areas, a caravan park and a few chalets for those who need extra creature comforts. Near the park is the famous Bloukrans Bridge, which boasts the world's highest spot for a bungee jump at 216 metres.
