A South African beach favourite, Jeffreys Bay is a world renowned surfing location that hosts Billabong's Pro ASP World Tour every July. Surfers from far and wide are the most frequent visitors to this small town, whilst others come simply to enjoy the lively atmosphere and the attractive Blue Flag Eastern Cape beaches, which are widely regarded as some of the best in the world. The growing tourist industry here has created a good selection of Jeffreys Bay hotels for visitors in addition to numerous attractions other than surfing and swimming. There are four nature reserves set close by, including Cape St Francis Nature Reserve, which is great for day hikes and has its own set of renowned beaches and sun-soaked hills teaming with a diverse range of plants, animals and bird life. The town itself has become renowned for great seafood, particularly calamari, and there's also superb golf just a short drive away at Zwartenbosch Golf Club, a fantastic nine-hole course featuring natural fountains and frequent wildlife sightings.
