Introduction to Bled, Slovenia
Bled is one of Slovenia's most popular tourist areas due to its picturesque glacial lake, Lake Bled and the impressive Bled Castle which is set high on a rock and overlooks the lake. Because of the areas popularity with visitors to Slovenia, there are plenty of hotels in Bled to choose from. The majority of accommodations are located close to the lake. There are plenty of activities to do in the area such as fishing, horse riding or enjoy a round a golf at one of the nearby golf courses. Close by is the Triglav National Park where you go take a mountain trek or enjoy one of the many hiking trails on offer. In the middle of Lake is a small island where you will find the charming Assumption of Mary Pilgrimage Church. To get to the island, you need to take a traditional rowing boat across called a Pletna.
