The hill is home to some of Singapore's wealthier residents and plenty of world-class educational establishments. The district is famous for its nature reserve, which is a small ecological garden set in the heart of the island, among skyscrapers and large developments. It is an excellent place to escape the fast-paced activity of Singapore, hike around or cycle. If visitors are lucky, they might spot the Bukit Timah Monkey Man who is said to inhabit this part of Singapore. This creature, whose existence is disputed by many, has allegedly been spotted in the nature reserve at night throughout the years. Bukit Timah is well connected to the rest of Singapore thanks to the number of MRT stations in the area. Bukit Timah hotels can be quite expensive due to the wealth of the area but are worth every penny for their easy access to major Singapore attractions like Orchard Road.
