Scuba diving: whether an experienced diver or an absolute beginner, the thrill of getting below the crystal clear Indian Ocean waters around the Seychelles is the same, and one which visitors would be hard-pushed to match in any of the planet’s popular diving territories. Pick up a waterproof disposable camera and get some snaps of the magnificent flora and fauna indigenous to the coastal areas.
Eating out: if you are one of those people who think of sampling the local cuisine as an essential aspect of the whole holiday experience, then the Seychelles is unlikely to be a disappointment. Creole cuisine is as fresh and as tasty as it gets with seafood dishes in which you can almost taste the ocean, and fruit and vegetables with an incomparable sweetness and richness of flavour. With plenty of establishments to choose from, eating out can easily become the highlight of the day.
Gambling: while this word may evoke fear or apprehension in many, gambling at one of the casinos of the popular hotel or resorts can in fact be a fun and potentially fiscally provident experience. Visitors can purchase as few or as many chips as they see fit and bet as little or as much as they desire. An evening can easily be whiled away enjoying the edge of trying to beat the house, or just watching the good or bad fortunes of others.
Glass-bottomed boat tour: a number of companies offer trips around the coral-rich reef areas surrounding the archipelago. These trips are a good opportunity for those unable to scuba dive to see some of the marine life that frequents the areas not immediate to the coastlines of the islands. Those passengers wanting to get a little closer are permitted to climb in for a spot of snorkelling in key locations.
