Getting Around

Getting Around Seychelles
Air: Air Seychelles operates a number of what are colloquially known as ‘hopper-planes’ – small aircraft that make light of the island-hopping experience and at affordable prices. Services operate between Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.
Taxi: taxis are available on the main islands but are expensive and thus best hired on a shared basis to spread the cost between passengers. Taxi drivers are not renowned for trying to rip passengers off; however, it might still be wise to get an estimate of the journey cost ahead of setting off.
Ferry: for getting between the islands, regular ferry services are available serving Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. To reach the smaller islands, boats can be chartered from local operators.
Car hire: vehicles known as Minimokes are available from car hire companies on the main islands and are essentially beach buggies which are fine for close to intermediate distances but lack the power or speed for long distance travelling. Jeeps, which pack a bit more under the hood, are also readily available but are obviously somewhat more expensive.
