Introduction to Praslin Island - Anse Volbert
Praslin Island, with its stunning beaches, fun activities and abundant wildlife, is located in the Seychelles archipelago and is the second largest of the islands, with several smaller islands just offshore. Anse Volbert village is conveniently located near the airport, and has a good selection of Anse Volbert hotels at all levels, from luxury resort-style beachside spas to economy lodgings. Nature-lovers are in heaven here, with tropical forests and the Valle de Mai nature reserve, boasting orchids and diverse, colourful, bird species. The villiage is one of the island's main settlements, along with Grand Anse and Baie St Anne, with most essential tourism amenities available as a result. White, powdery sands, beachside bars and eateries, little local markets and great nightlife is all here, with outdoor activities both in the water and on land easily arranged. Occasionally, the sea is too rough for snorkelling, making touring around the island a good substitute.
