The Royal Scottish National Orchestra has popular Proms concerts in June at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Sauchiehall street. The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra performs at various venues including the BBC HQ on Queen Margaret drive. The recently refurbished City Hall on Candleriggs is home to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
The Bar Fly Club has a wider choice of music styles on offer and Brel, on Ashton lane, occasionally has Jazz acts. There is a well-established club scene in the city with a wide choice of venues and beats. Clubs tend to come and go as tastes change so it's best to check local listings for current information.
Glasgow's pubs were once known for attracting serious drinkers, but things have changed and most are friendly and welcoming.
