Visit historic Edinburgh Castle: one of Edinburgh’s most famous landmarks, it is also one of the most-visited sights in Scotland. This is a great spot to take photos, as there are wonderful views of the city from here so be sure to have your camera with you when you visit.
Watch a performance at the festival: if you time your visit to Edinburgh to coincide with its world-famous Festival, you can enjoy a series of artistic and cultural events and performances that are held annually from mid-August through early September.
Learn about astronomy: by visiting the Edinburgh Royal Observatory Visitor Centre and while you’re there you can take in some stunning views of Edinburgh and the surrounding countryside.
Have dinner out: Edinburgh boasts a number of fine restaurants, where you can sample traditional Scottish fare, Scottish fusion cuisine, or international menus – and follow up your meal with a few drinks at either a traditional, cosy pub or a modern and trendy bar.
