Golf: Dundee and its vicinity is blessed with a number of outstanding golf courses, the most obvious being St Andrews. Camperdown and Caird golf courses are two of the best close to the city with green fees that won’t break the bank. Both are 18-hole courses with a clubhouse. Caird also features an additional nine-hole course.

Whale-watching: the upper class district of Broughty makes a good spot from which to hire a boat or join a tour for whale- and dolphin-watching in the North Sea at the Tay estuary. Visitors should be careful to obey the strict rules when coming into contact with sea mammals.
