Introduction to Tomintoul, Scotland
The Scottish village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Scottish Highlands is located on the grounds of the Crown Estate of Glenlivet. The village was built during the late 18th century and is the gateway to the beautiful Cairngorms National Park. Many Tomintoul hotels are located close to the national park, which is a wonderful place to visit for those interested in flora and fauna. There are many great hiking trails to do in the park. The Glenlivet Estate is prime farming country with many sheep and cattle. Some Tomintoul hotels are located on farmland. However, the number one industry in the area is whisky distilling and Glenlivet whisky is known worldwide. There are plenty of activities to do around Tomintoul such as horse riding, cycling, hill walking and fishing. There is a small museum in the village. Many hotels in Tomintoul have bicycles available for hire.other spellings: hotelstomintoul, tomintul hote, otel toumintoul, tomintol hotell, hotes toemintoul
