Introduction to St Andrews - Anstruther
Lying just south of the famous golfing city of St Andrews on Scotland's North Sea coast, Anstruther is a town in Fife featuring attractive old waterside buildings and a shady Cold War past. Only decommissioned in 1993, 'Scotland's Secret Bunker' in Anstruther has become a major tourist attraction in the era from the days when the Soviet Union was considered a major threat to the UK. Built underneath an ordinary looking house, the bunker has been turned into a museum; it sits down a 150-metre long entrance tunnel which leads to a number of operations rooms, including a former RAF command centre. For a more relaxed look at the town, take a walk along the picturesque seafront or enjoy a round of golf at the local course, the closest most players get to St Andrews less than 10 miles north. Anstruther hotels are almost all well-placed either on and around the High Street overlooking the sea.other spellings: anstrutherhotels, otelin anstruthur, antruther hotell, anstuter hote, anstruther hotes
