Introduction to Pitlochry - City Centre
Pitlochry is located about 84 miles northeast of Glasgow, near Cairngorms National Park, and sits on the banks of the River Tummel. The picturesque area is highly popular among tourists who enjoy outdoor walks. Queen Victoria visited Pitlochry in 1842, further adding to the touristic appeal, and the railway that was introduced in 1863 made this remote region more accessible to outsiders. Many hikers come here to enjoy the nearby mountains of Ben Vrackie and Schiehallion. Pitlochry City Centre hotels are in high demand and vary from luxury suites through to small and humble abodes. A highlight in Pitlochry is its famous whiskey distilleries. Edradour is the smallest whiskey distillery in Scotland and Blair Athol Distillery goes back to 1798. The nearby Cairngorms National Park is a great place to observe wildlife, with the park home to the native red and roe deer. Evening entertainment in the town can be sought at the Festival Theatre. other spellings: pitlochryhotels citycenter, pitlochry city otel, pitlochy hotell center, pitlocry hote city
