Introduction to Perth - Blairgowrie
The pretty little red stone town of Blairgowrie is located around 20kms north of the city of Perth, in Scotland, on the River Ericht. Several roads converge in the town, including the A93 from Perth, the A923 from Dundee to the southeast and the A926 from Forfar in the east. Blairgowrie has all the normal small town facilities, such as locally-run shops, restaurants, a primary school and a secondary school. Blairgowrie itself is not noted for its tourist attractions, but its proximity to Glenshee Ski Centre means there are plenty of visitors to the town and therefore a relatively large number of Blairgowrie hotels to choose from. The ski centre is roughly 30kms to the north and Scotland's biggest skiing and snowboarding area, with four mountains and three valleys. The town is within a few kilometres of several golf courses, with Rosemount golf course less than a kilometre out of town. This course is considered one of Scotland's best.
