Introduction to Kirkcaldy, Scotland
Kirkcaldy is the most populated community in the part of eastern Scotland called the Kingdom of Fife, which is situated in the middle of eastern Scotland. This town is the biggest community between Edinburgh and Dundee, making it a natural stopover between the two larger cities. The majority of Kirkcaldy hotels are stately buildings that date back to the Victorian era, but there are also plenty of more modern hotels typical of international chains. Kirkcaldy is frequently named the Lang Toun, or 'long town' in English, because its main street is nearly one and a half kilometres long. The town's theatre is named after one of its most famous residents, economist Adam Smith. Kirkcaldy also contains three nightclubs, three large parks, and an art gallery and museum inside its War Memorial Gardens. Things get notably busy during the week when Europe's biggest travelling fair, the Links Market, comes to town each spring.other spellings: kirkcalydhotels, kirkcadly otel, kirkclady hotell, kirkacldy hote, kirckaldy hotle
