The city centre is in the district between the central railway station and the east bank of the river. A number of Inverness hotels are located in this district. Inverness City Centre has attractions including the Old High Church, Inverness Castle, boutiques and antique book shops, and the Eastgate Shopping Centre. Inverness Cathedral is on the opposite bank of the river. The riverside offers green spaces and walking paths. The central Inverness hotels are close to the city’s eateries and nightlife venues. Some of Inverness’s fine dining restaurants are close to both banks of the river. Inverness city centre pubs feature live bands at the weekends.
