Introduction to Inveraray, Scotland
Inverary is a town in western Scotland near the top end of Loch Fyne. The town's landmark Inverary Castle and its turrets point the way to town. Inverary's loch shores feature picturesque white-washed buildings. Most of the hotels in Inverary are located close to the loch. This town a number of tourist draws. The former Jail is now a museum. All Saints' Church' Bell Tower looms over the town. The top of the tower is open to the public and offers wonderful views of the town and loch. The pier has an old tri-masted schooner moored at it which houses the Maritime Museum. Hotels are within walking distance of souvenir shops, tea rooms and restaurants. It is a good base from which to go hill walking, fishing and diving. Scenic cruises around Loch Fyne are available.
