Introduction to Fort William, Scotland
Fort William is in western Scotland where Loch Linnhe and Loch Eil merge. Fort William is a leading tourist resort and has numerous accommodation options including a choice of Fort William hotels. The Fort William hotels in the town are mostly located alongside the lochs as well as Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain, and other lofty mountain peaks. In the district around Fort William and Ben Nevis there are B&Bs, hostels, camp sites, lodges and self catering cottages. Fort William is an outdoor activity centre and offers opportunities for hiking, mountain climbing and mountain biking. Walkers and climbers use Fort William hotels as a base for ascending Ben Nevis. The Pony Track on Ben Nevis’ south side is the route most commonly used by walkers. The Pony Track does not involve climbing but does need a reasonable level of fitness. The Ben Nevis Distillery is just outside Fort William and offers a single malt whiskey that is popular with visitors.other spellings: fortwilliamhotels, fort wiliam otel, hotell in fort wiliam, hote in fortwilliem
