Introduction to Fort William - Ardgour
Occupying a large area of the Scottish Highlands to the southwest of Fort William, Ardgour is a picturesque part of the country with superb walking and idyllic views of nearby Loch Linhe. Given its good location by the water, it makes a perfect base from which to explore nearby Fort William, just half an hour by car, and the surrounding countryside which ranks as some of the most scenic in the Highlands. Photographers flock to Lock Linhe because its long narrow shape aligns perfectly with the setting sun; come for an afternoon walk and watch the colours change over the water. Ferries also ply the loch, providing another way to get a good view of the water and hills nearby. Ardgour hotels are mainly located on the main A861 at the point where the loch narrows, although most accommodation options are to be found on the opposite bank at Corran, less than half a mile away through a tunnel. other spellings: ardgourhotels, adgour otel, artgour hotell, ardgur hote, ardkour hotes
