Callander is a town on the River Teith in central Scotland, located in the Trossachs National Park, which is also home to Loch Lomond. Callander hotels are dotted around the picturesque town which is dominated on its northern edge by the Callander Crags. Callander is one of the main gateways to the Trossachs and the Scottish Highlands and has good tourist infrastructure to serve the many tourists that pass through the town each year. Apart from Callander hotels the area has other accommodation options including B&Bs, cottage rentals, static caravans and camp sites. Callander's shopping precinct is on Main Street and has a full range of service shops, supermarkets and sports equipment stores. Trekkers use the hotels in Callander while hiking on the many marked trails in the region. Bicycles can be hired in Callander and are another means of reaching the Trossachs' wonderful countryside although be sure to bring a camera to capture some of the beautiful vistas.
