Introduction to Yanbu - Beach
Yanbu, an industrial city turned popular seaside resort, is situated around 350kms north of Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia. The city is located on the Red Sea and boasts a beautiful waterfront. Fishing, sailing and various other water sports are extremely popular here, while certain stretches of the beach are designated areas of swimming and picnicking. There is also a picturesque marina where impressive yachts are usually docked. Like so many Red Sea resorts, Yanbu offers superb diving conditions. The main location for scuba diving is at the empty beach north of Yanbu's creek. Here, the reef is a steep sloping wall which goes down roughly 100 feet before reaching the less steep sandy bottom. Coral Gardens and Barracuda Beach are the most popular dive sites, with the former boasting beautiful coral and the latter an area where barracuda, tuna and sharks congregate.
