Introduction to Jeddah - Al Hindawiya
On the southern edges of the city of Jeddah is the district of Al Hindawiya. Still within the boundaries of this cosmopolitan Saudi Arabia metropolis, yet distinctly less congested and noisy than its centre, Al Hindawiya serves as a pleasant residential neighbourhood with some light industry. There aren't any tourist attractions of note in this section of Jeddah, but it's just a few blocks from the sea and nearby several green park areas. The Jeddah Corniche can be reached by walking a short way up the coast, offering an excellent and lively place to stroll, shops and admire the views of the Red Sea. Most of the Al Hindawiya hotels on offer are used to catering to international guests. There are a handful of local shops and restaurants in Al Hindawiya, although most tourists head into the Al-Balad Old Town district for their dining and entertainment needs.
