Introduction to Al Khobar - Al Aqrabya
Al Khobar is a city in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, located along the Persian Gulf. This sprawling seaside metropolis and the neighboring Dhahran are part of the Damman metropolitan area, with Khobar being the most cosmopolitan in the trio. The golden beaches, phenomenal shopping facilities and wide range of international and fusion fare makes this a major tourist destination. The city is split into four areas, Khobar, Subekha, Thuqba, and Agrabia. Al Agrabya (al-Agrabia) is mainly residential, though there are several fine dining establishments in this quarter of the city. Al Aqrabya hotels are close to Half Moon Bay, the southern coast with a number of family and singles beaches. The waters here are warm and shallow, perfect for relaxing under the blazing Arabian sun. Farther south, a popular activity is riding ATVs over the sand dunes of the gulf. Sunset Beach earns its name for the spectacular views it offers at the day's end, the perfect conclusion to a day spent shopping along the waterfront or in one of the city's outlet malls, two of which have their own amusement parks.
