Russia's beautiful, bustling, culturally rich port city of St Petersburg boasts endless streets revealing district after stately district. Aptekarsky Island is found on the northern side of the Neva delta, closely connected to Petrogradsky Island and Petrovsky Island. It's separated from Kamenny Island and Krestovsky Island by the Malaya Nevka and from the Vyborgskaya region on the mainland by the Bolshaya Nevka. Along the south side of the district, seven bridges line the Karpovka River and connect Aptekarsky with Petrogradsky, making it easy to explore both districts from Apetkarsky Island hotels. Originally, the area was the city's pharmaceutical district, with the botanical gardens at the southeast corner of the island famed for their medicinal herbs. Many historic buildings are still found on the island, such as the First Lensoveta House and the old television broadcasting centre.
