Golf: can be enjoyed in many fully-equipped courses in Porto. Oporto Golf Club is located along the beaches of Espinho while Amarante boasts a lovely landscape overlooking the towns of Amarante and Marco de Canaveses with the mountains of Marao and Aboboreira as a backdrop.
River cruise: exploring Porto by boat is a fantastic way to see the city from a different perspective. Go on a cruise that will take you as far as Pinhao. However, if you are here during the summer, take sure you wear a lot of sunscreen as the sun can be very strong.
Sample locally brewed port: your meal isn’t complete with a glass of the strong and sweet Port wine. There are many grades of Port wine with Ruby being the youngest and cheapest while vintage port is great for wine connoisseurs.
Shopping: Porto boasts some of the best shopping venues in the country. The most popular area is the Santa Catarina where you can shop for brand name goodies and other local products. Porto is also famous for national textiles, leather, crystal and gold handcrafts. High-street boutiques can also be found at the Centro Comercial Peninsular and Praça do Bom Sucesso.
