There are no specific vaccinations required prior to a holiday in Portugal; however rabies is present so any visitor planning to spend time around animals, would be wise to seek the necessary inoculations.
All visitors are advised to make sure they have holiday insurance that includes adequate provision for medical treatment. EU visitors will get free treatment at public hospitals provided they have an EHIC card.
