There are a range of charter and scheduled flights here with the majority coming from the UK, Germany and Holland. Airlines operating services to and from Faro include Aer Lingus, easyJet, Finnair, Flybe, Lufthansa, Monarch, TAP and Virgin Express.
The airport’s one terminal has two floors; check in and arrivals can be found on the ground flood with departures on the top floor. The building is modern, attractive and easy to navigate your way around.
There is also the chance to stock up on some local handicrafts and items from the delicatessen. There are plenty of eating and drinking options and the rooftop cafe offers some good views. The airport also has an information desk in the arrivals area where English speaking staff can help you with any aspect of your travel plans.

Transportation: the airport is well located both for Faro and for the Algarve’s resort towns, with good road links and other transport options. If you are driving yourself, you will find it relatively straightforward as the major N125 road runs the length of the coastline and goes past the airport.
The airport shuttle (Aerobus) is efficient and runs from the airport to central Faro, it is quicker than the public bus but only runs from June through to the end of October, and not on Tuesdays. There are plenty of taxis around and this is the fastest option, but always be sure you agree the fare before you start your journey.
There is the option of the train, but the train station isn’t located at the airport and you will need to take a taxi or bus to get there. The lines from the east close to Spain all the way to Lagos.
It is within short walking distance from the terminal and obviously more affordable for longer stays. There are disabled spaces available, conveniently located for the best access to the airport building.
