Introduction to Santiago do Cacem, Portugal
The town of Santiago do Cacem is about 80kms to the south of Portugal's largest city, Lisbon. The town is found within Setubal district, along the coastline of this fabulous tourist region. There are various Santiago do Cacem hotels found in the settlement, as visitors come to the town throughout the year. Numerous places of interest can be found nearby. The lowland area around the town gives way to beautiful lakes. In addition, there are several beaches close to the town that are great for bathing and sport fishing. For a greater insight into the history of the town, visit the Santiago do Cacem Municipal Museum, which is found in the heart of the settlement. Close to the town are the famous Roman ruins of Mirobriga, home to some of the region's most spectacular ancient landmarks in Portugal.
