The small town of Samora Correia is situated within the district of Beneavente, about 40kms to the northeast of Portugal's largest metropolis, Lisbon. The town is part of the Santarem district, and contains only a very small population. The town shares its area with another small town called Porto Alto, which takes up the western side of the district while Samora Correia incorporates the eastern side. Two main highways pass through the town - the N118 and N10, which connect to the A1 to the west, the A10 to the north and the A13 to the east. Several Samora Correia hotels can be found alongside wonderful restaurants in the town centre. A large park can be located in the northeastern part of the settlement, and several churches are found in the town also. However, perhaps the most attractive features of the town are its relative quietness and close proximity to the capital of Portugal.
