Praia da Rocha translates literally as Rock Beach and Praia da Rocha is not too far from the bustling Portuguese beach resort of Portimao. Large white rocks bookend the beach and provide handy surf breaks and many Praia da Rocha hotels overlook the monoliths. Hotels in Praia da Rocha may actually be located in Portimao and the distance between town and Praia da Rocha is not too great. For some, it may be too far to walk but others will enjoy the lenghty stroll especially if it can be completed in the morning or evening, out of the full heat of the sun.
