Introduction to Pico, Portugal
In the Portuguese Azores is one of the coolest islands in Europe that should be on every wine lover’s list of unique places to visit. Pico is called the Black Island for its abundance of black volcanic soil that has proven excellent for growing grapes. The historic vineyards here are so special that UNESCO has designated them as World Heritage sites.
