Introduction to Nazare, Portugal
Nazare is a coastal town in the south of Portugal, and it has a population of around fifteen thousand people. The Church of St Nossa is just one of the many crumbling tourist attractions of Nazare and many Nazare hotels will cheerily point you in the direction of an excellent walking tour. Hotels in Nazare blend in well with the town’s historical architecture. Though many hotels are very upmarket and are regularly refurbished this is a gentle town that prizes its heritage and traditions and so despite some wonderful shop fronts and glossy fashion boutiques the older style reamins in favour in Nazare. Nazare hotels offer a good spread of accommodations and are dotted in the old town, or along the beach. It really does not make a huge difference which part of town you choose to stay for the night since pretty much everything here is contained within a comfortable walking distance.
