The enchanting township of Mesao Frio is found in the heart of Portugal's northern region. It is located in the district of Vila Real, just 12kms from the city of Peso de Regua, and about 18kms from the city of Vila Real. Many thousands of tourists flock to the town each year, and are greeted by some amazing old manors that line the main street of the commune. While visiting the town, the parish church known as Sao Nicolau Church, found in the middle of the settlement, is home to amazing paintings and is a charming medieval structure. The Town Hall is another famous attraction in the town. It was once an old monastery, but has since been converted into the main centre for Mesao Frio's council. There is also an historical museum found in the Town Hall. Just outside the town centre is an old vineyard with a hotel on site. Nevertheless, there are plenty of other Mesao Frio hotels found closer to the town centre.
