Introduction to Lisbon - Campolide
Home of the famous Aguas Livres Aqueduct, the Lisbon area of Campolide has much to offer tourists. As well as housing this remarkable 18th century structure, it is also the gateway to the Monsanto Forest Park. Many nature buffs visit this protected park as it contains the interesting Ecological Park. The park is also home to the well-known Circuito de Monsanto, a racecourse that has hosted the Portuguese Grand Prix. The Aqueduct is, of course, the most visited attraction in Campolide. It features the world's largest stone arch as well as an impressive 34 other arches. The Museu de Agua (Water Museum) can be found here and is well worth visiting. Campolide is connected to Lisbon city centre by railway and within a few minutes' walk of the Metro Blue Line, making it easy to explore the entire city from any of the fine selection of Campolide hotels.Visit our Lisbon Travel Guide
