Introduction to Lisbon - Campo Grande
Surrounded by some of Portugal's most prestigious universities, the Lisbon area of Campo Grande is predominately a large park that in the past was frequented by the city's aristocracy. It is still a popular weekend spot, although visitors can enjoy it any day of the week. A small lake is situated here and rowboats can be hired to take a romantic trip around the lake. Restaurants and cafes are situated throughout the park and there are plenty of great Campo Grande hotels nearby. The airport is just a stone's throw away so many travellers opt to stay in the area because of its proximity to the international air hub. Campo Grande is connected to the rest of the city via the Lisbon Metro green line, which makes visiting other areas of the city straightforward. Lisbon's downtown (Baixa) area is also on this line and a fantastic place for shopping and tasting traditional Portuguese cuisine. Visit our Lisbon Travel Guide
